Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better called Ari Lennox, is an American musician and singer who hails from Washington, D.C., who was the first female to be signed to J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. On the 21st of October, 2016 she debuted Pho, her first EP on the label Dreamville Records. That was the day she gained her first the attention of her peers. Shea Butter Baby released her first album of studio work on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music online in the year 2012, when she released her first mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in the year 2013. In 2014 Ari Lennox released her own single Bound and her self-released mixtape Five Finger Discount. On July 21st, 2015. Omen included her in Elephant Eyes' track Sweat It Out. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville team at the time and wanted her to create Rihanna references. In December 2008, it was announced that Rihanna had been signed by Dreamville Records. The album Revenge of the Dreamers II She was on the song Backseat along with Cozz. In the month of October she dropped her debut EP, Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performance for J. Cole on his track Change in 2017. She also appeared on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. She also appeared on the tracks Nothing but the Best by EarthGang and Icarus together with Bas the label's co-founders. Ari Lennox dropped her first song Whipped Cream off of Shea Butter Baby on July 16. A music video followed then followed by a short video in September. She released her second single called Grampa on the 9th of November. On November 13 the singer released two new singles, titled One and Pdigree. One and Pdigree. Shea Butter Baby is a track that she recorded alongside Cole for Creed II's soundtrack on November 16th. It was then released as a single on its own in February 2019 to coincide with the release of her debut album. The song, released with a video posted on YouTube on February 20, 2019, has been viewed over 3 million times in the first seven days. In December of 2018, she was performing as a support act on From East Atlanta With Love Tour. From East Atlanta With Love Tour together with 6LACK.
